PAGE FOOTNOTES:  The title is, of course, a reference to Stockholm Syndrome, where a prisoner may, after sufficient time, begin to identify with his captors. Meiun has been kept, against his will, and indeed was taken in a fairly violent incident - one that caused Dr. Aoi to attempt to destroy the power of the core of the Introitus system, the ancestral luggage, to eliminate use of the machine so as to prevent a full-scale invasion of Pastel. Now we see Meiun defending his captor, the last of the Ktlikikak. He has been there, with only her in all the universe, for a very, very, very long time.
